Frequently Asked Questions
Is UPSC Forum really free?
Yes, completely free. All features — forum, PYQs, quizzes, mock tests, answer writing, and syllabus tracking — are available at no cost.
Do I need to verify my phone number?
Phone verification is required to post, comment, and take tests. This helps us maintain quality and prevent spam. You can browse all content without verification.
Can I post anonymously?
Yes. Every post gives you the option to use your public alias instead of your real name. Your alias is randomly generated and cannot be traced back to you by other users.
How does the daily quiz work?
A new 10-question MCQ quiz is published every day based on recent current affairs. Take it, see your score and explanations, and build a streak. Your streak resets if you miss a day.
How does answer writing peer review work?
Write answers to daily Mains-style prompts. Other aspirants review your answer on content, structure, language, and give an overall score out of 10 with written feedback. You can review others' answers too.
How do I track my syllabus progress?
Go to the Syllabus Tracker page. The entire UPSC syllabus is broken into subjects and topics. Mark each topic as Not Started, In Progress, Revision, or Completed. Your overall progress percentage updates automatically.
Can I search previous year questions by topic?
Yes. The PYQ database lets you filter by year, paper, subject, and topic. You can also search by keywords to find specific questions across all years.
