Because without IAS officers these matric fail politicians can not understand and manage to do big thing like 5 year plan, budgetting etc.,

Because our founding fathers of India realized that these donkeys cannot rule the country without the help of highly educated person like IAS people. Thats why IAS people are sought from highest intelligent people in the country so that life can be made easy for uneducated politicians.

From Ramsay James

I ‘ve had the ill luck to belong to one of these All India services for the last 3 decades. We IAS babus R always under microscope, & R made accountable for whatever bad happens in our jurisdiction, if there is no pol godfather.

The so called public representatives ( like MPs, MLAs, ZP chiefs) have taken away most of the sheen from these once coveted services. They hog credit for all the good things. They openly interfere in Govt work.
Upright Officers who refuse to tow their line are either transferred to punishment postings,& / or R involved in trumped up vigilance cases.
The Civil Service Conduct Rules R so severe that even a Saint can not fit within their austere scope.Only the corrupt officials, who enjoy the blessings of their Political masters, R immune to all such restrictions .

As a lecturer, I was far more happy, than now as a senior Commissioner .The Britishers had created a steel framework, which these foul congressies R tampering with & bringing it down gradually for their own selfish ends.

If U R thinking of joining one of these services, promptly eschew & bury the thought. U will perennially bless me .

S.Sridhar

Life is fun for those u know how to move with the flow and if you know that then u are the right person to be in … dont think abt ur principles…. dont think to work using ur head… and dont hate corruption…

and if you can you all above then life is fun for all IAS, IPS, IFS officer i m sorry to say that the hard reality…

Even though the interview has 300 marks with no min qualifying marks, it is the deciding coefficient at times of your being within the services or out of it and in the least matters in which service you get. However since the interview is so individual and rambling it is much convenient to do very indeed in the written mains. But an Interview can constitute or break you so snap your characteristic growth rather essentially and make assured to accompany some mock interviews at begun institutes.

UPSC Interview Questions

UPSC Interview questions scope from questions concerning your choice of subject to why you want to join the civil services. It is radical to response honestly but at the same time avoid cliches like proceeding to do service to the nation etc. Questions on your hobbies are essential so exercise well as they imply some in deepness cognizance on that. Questions relating to your name, your college or school name are also a big possibility. If someone well-know shares one of these names please also prepare on that. Also learn up about important events on the year or date of your birth. As you can see, UPSC Interview questions are mainly from what you have filled in your form including your subject but here it is more a test of wrangling and overture and awareness rather than sheer incidental cognition. In the UPSC interview goodly questions are situational like what will you do if a Tsunami strikes your district and you are the DM/Collector/SP. Questions on your option of service predilection also need to be planned. Actual affairs dispersion is weighty also.

UPSC Interview Tips

There are 5-6 members at the table with the Chairperson seated at the middle. Begin confidently and cheer the Chairman, who will most likely welcome you, and pleasantly nod at another members. Stay till you are asked to sit.
Intelligent glossary is the mantra, and for this maintaining eye contact is very absolute. You should not flicker but all the same look attentive and do not glance at various members, it can be very distracting for the interviewer. However if some other member asks you anything, look at that member and answer and turn back to the first - this is what we do in normal attentive listening.
Do not flurry or drag your hands around, or shake your head. Less quantum of movement does not mean you should sit unnaturally stiff. Your posture should be attentive and relaxed at the same time. Do not crouch/bend forward or place your hands on the table.
Cut your answer short to the required persistence shown by the member talking to you. They usually like to talk more, so listen carefully and think for a few seconds before you start answering the question. This will show that you are organizing your inmost thoughts in mind before starting to speak.
Leave some room for difference in opinion. Do take a stand, but do not look adamant or unconverted to realize the board’s conclusion.
Use two of words from the question while responding any question. It shows you have listened to the problem with care. But at the same duration the use the technical gibberish.
Listen very with care. Come to the central issue of the enquiry just then. Turf guessing or assurance are a total no no.
Do not start evaluating your creature while still in the interview. Invariable if you have bound mistakes in the commencement, do not think that you have before now lost the zeal. They are looking for warm, sensuous obsequious and attentive youngsters. They decide you are good or you would not have come off so far.
Talk humbly about your achievements and hobbies. You may have mentioned some hobbies in the form unless downright dorsum in them, but foregoing the interview it would be liable to adze up some basic info on the warp.
Say less to carry more. Less is more these days as per the minimalist propaganda. Argue logically and prevail correctly. Do not try to read too much among the lines.
Remember, while answering any question, what is easy to see is easy to miss. We often tend to miss the obvious and go for some non-crucial aspect of the contingent.
Get up to leave only when the chairperson asks you to, not because you think everybody has asked a question. Similarly, even if someone has not asked a problem and the chairman asks you to leave then please leave. Some members do not look for questions at all, due to various reasons like limited time.
Before leaving politely give thanks the chairperson and nod at the others politely. Avoid saying “Have a good day sir”. A “Thank you Sir/Madam” is adequate.

It is normal to become more absent-minded as we age, and in fact, most people over the age of 40 experience some memory loss. The most likely causes of a forgetful memory include poor concentration due to brain-chemical imbalance, tiredness, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders.

If you find you are more forgetful than usual, try these steps and see if there isn’t some improvement in your cognitive clarity:

Get an uninterrupted eight hours of sleep each night.

Do a half an hour of cardiovascular exercise every day, such as brisk walking, slow jogging, biking, or swimming. This will improve circulation and increase blood flow to the brain.

Turn yourself upside down for a couple of minutes daily.

Mental fitness activities are imperative to prevent age-related cognitive decline. Read and learn new things, find new hobbies, do crossword puzzles, add up your bill in your head while shopping, memorize a set of phone numbers forward and backwards; all these can stimulate brain cell activities and in some cases even grow new brain pathways.

Work with your physician to find a supplemental regimen that helps improve your cognitive capabilities. Memory-enhancing supplements and herbs include B-complex vitamins, magnesium, CoQ10, alpha-lipoic acid, fish oil, flax seed oil, Chinese club moss, ginkgo, and ginseng. A supplement that has been well-documented in Europe for reversing age-related dementia and memory loss is phosphatidylserine (PS), a compound made by the body from the amino acid serine. Taken in supplement form, PS lowers stress response and promotes the release of neurotransmitters in the brain that facilitate thought, reasoning, and concentration.

After clearing your preliminaries, mains and interviews you are sent for training. The probation period is spent in training schools, secretariats, field level postings and district magistrate’s offices. The professional hierarchy has the junior scale officer at the bottom of the ladder, moving up to under secretary, director, joint secretary, and additional secretary, secretary and finally the cabinet secretary.

At the district level the senior most person is the collector, deputy commissioner or the district magistrate. At the divisional level you have the DC who is incharge of law and order, general administration and overall development. At the state level you have the secretaries (home, finance) and the chief secretary.

The All India Services include the IAS, the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Forest Services. After his probation, an IPS officer finds himself holding the position of Assistant Superinten- dent of Police of a sub-division which is usually for a period of two years. He goes onto become SP and then DIG. An IPS officer could be appointed in the crime branch, criminal investigation department, CID, Home Guards or the traffic bureau. IPS officers also head some of the central policing agencies like the Intelligence Bureau, CBI, BSF, CRPF and the Cabinet Secretariat Security network.

Group A of the Central services comprise as many as 16 different services which include the Indian Foreign service, Railways, Postal, Accounts and Audit, Revenue (Customs and Central Excise), Ordnance Factories, Infor- mation, Defence Estate, Trade, Industrial Security, P and T Accounts and Finance Services. As an officer of the Central service you would be posted either in bigger towns or at the Centre.

Conducted by one of seven Indian Institutes of Technology in rotation, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an annual exam for admission to M.Tech and M.S. programmes in most engineering institutes in India[citation needed]. It is regarded as a benchmark test for engineering graduates in India[citation needed]. This examination is coordinated by a committee, comprising of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Government of India. The pattern and syllabus are usually based on a candidate’s B.Tech. or BE syllabus. Minimum eligibility for appearing in this exam is usually a B.Tech, BE, B. Arch. or M.Sc. The exam is usually conducted on second Sunday of February.

In 2002, 102,790 students appeared for GATE, out of which 21,689 qualified[citation needed].

Forms are usually available in late September till late October at prominent SBI Branches. The students can appear in GATE under different disciplines according to their M.Tech interests. The discipline specification is done while filling the forms. Apart from the basic engineering disciplines there are XE and XL papers which are general in nature.

The current format of the GATE exam paper pattern is:

Total of 150 marks, fully objective, with three sections
Group I: Question Numbers 1 to 20 (20 questions) will carry one mark each.
Group II: Question numbers 21 to 75 (55 questions) will carry two marks each. Out of this, Q.71 to Q.75 may be common data based questions.
Group III: Question Numbers 76 to 85 (10 questions) will carry two marks each.
These questions are called linked answer questions. These 10 questions comprise five pairs of questions (76 & 77, 78 & 79, etc.). The solution to the second question of each pair (e.g. Q.77) will be linked to the correct answer to the first one (e.g. Q.76) in the pair.

Each question will have four choices for the answer. Only one choice is correct.
The score card of the Qualified Candidates formerly included GATE Score, Percentile Score and Rank. However, from 2006 onwards percentile has been excluded from the results.
